One of the largest and most beautiful chestnut forests in Europe
On this simple but very impressive trail through the magnificent chestnut forest between Castasegna and Soglio, you will learn a lot of interesting facts about this old cultivated plant, which contributes to a large extent to the history and culture of Castasegna in the Val Bregaglia. The information panels provide visitors with general information about chestnut forests and chestnuts. In a "cascina" stone drying hut you learn about the process of drying and processing chestnuts. A visit to the chestnut forest with its huge trees is beautiful at any time of year - as is the panorama. From October to November, the chestnuts are collected from the meadows.
